First Look: Stock Desert Tech Trek-22 Bullpup

Desert Tech has made a name for itself creating original bullpup rifle platforms in popular centerfire chamberings, but the company’s latest product released in 2022 aims to convert a classic rimfire rifle into a bullpup system with a simple exchange of shares. The Desert Tech Trek-22 bullpup stock is designed to shorten and lighten any standard Ruger 10/22 rifle.
Compared to a Ruger 10/22 rifle with a wooden stock and 18″ barrel, a 10/22 action inside the Desert Tech Trek-22 stock is 10.25″ shorter and 7% lighter than the original, with an overall length of just 26.75″. The Trek-22 stock is constructed from impact-resistant glass-reinforced polymer, and it provides 13 M-Lok mounting points on the front, as well a Picatinny rail integrated at the top for optics.
On the rear of the Desert Tech Trek-22 stock are two molded compartments that allow users to store two 10-round rotary magazines for their firearm. Below this storage compartment is a sling stud that can be used to sling the rifle from either side. Another benefit of the Trek-22 package is the addition of an improved trigger, with a straight blade and reduced pull weight of around 4.5 lbs on average.
The suggested retail price on the stock Desert Tech Trek-22 bullpup kit for the Ruger 10/22 is $299.99. For more information, visit deserttech.com.
